Key Performance Indicators

KPI 7b

Recanalisation treatment rate presented as % of all admitted patients with ischaemic stroke receiving mechanical thrombectomy.

Current status

Almost all Nordic or Western countries provide MT to 5-10 % of patients with acute ischaemic stroke, but there are clear exceptions. In general, it is the same countries that provide IVT as well as MT to a larger proportion of patients, indicating a higher quality and better organization of acute stroke care.
