Stroke is one of the most enormous burdens to healthcare services. Despite all combined efforts, it affects more than one million people annually in Europe.

Although there is abundant knowledge regarding stroke prevention and treatment, still remains a significant gap between the theory and real-world stroke care, even in the most developed European countries.
